A continent is any of the world’s main continuous expanses of land. Each Continent is Unique in its own way especially its land mass, population, language and choice of worship.

Continent is not just a physical term; it also carries cultural connotations.

There are Seven Continents in the World;

Africa
Antarctica
Asia
Australia
Europe
North America
South America

AFRICA

The second largest in Land Mass,
It has a total of 55 Countries,
It Houses the World’s hottest Desert,the Sahara Desert
Its Multilingualism is the highest in the world,It has the Francophone, Anglophone, Arabophone, Lusophone, Spanish, Swahili and many others,
The common Religions include Islam, Christianity, African religion and Atheists
It is home to the Largest River in the world, It runs across 11 countries-Nile River,
It has 5 Regions: North Africa, East Africa, Central Africa, South Africa and West Africa.

ANTARCTICA

It has no Permanent borders and permanent residents,
It is the fifth largest in Land mass
It has over 60 Scientific Research stations, a special International Treaty makes it useful to anybody for any peaceful purpose.

ASIA

The Largest of all continents in Land Mass,
It has 48 Countries,
Mostly found people are the Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Arab,
Religion includes: Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Jainism, Christianity and Shintoism.
Surrounded on three sides by Oceans:Pacific, Artic and Indian Oceans
It has 6 regions: North Asia, Central Asia, Southwest Asia, South Asia, South East Asia and East Asia

AUSTRALIA

It has the Smallest Land mass,
It has 4 Countries,
It is bordered by Pacific Ocean and Indian Ocean,
Most common languages include: English, Italian and Greek,
Dominant Religion is Protestant religion and Roman Catholic religion,

EUROPE

It is the Third largest in Population,after Asia and Africa,
It has 50 countries,
Mostly found are the Britons, Azores, Madeira Portuguese, Balearic and Canary Spaniards, Icelanders, Peninsular and Scandinavians
Languages spoken are English, German and many others
Dominant Religion is Christianity. Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism are minor religions
It has 5 regions: Central Europe, Eastern, Southeastern, Southwestern and Northern Europe.

NORTH AMERICA

Third largest in land mass
It comprises of 23 Countries,,
Bordered by Arctic, Atlantic and Pacific Ocean. South America and Caribbean Sea borders it by the South
They have the Anglo Americans and Latin Americans
Languages spoken are English, Spanish, and French.

SOUTH AMERICA

This is the Fourth Largest in Land Mass,
The fifth most populated continent.
It has 12 Countries,
It borders Pacific Ocean to the west, Atlantic Ocean to the East and Caribbean Sea and North America to the Northwest.

From these analogies,it is most noted that these continents have Oceans mainly as their borders which is a common and unique characteristics of the world continents.About 71 percent of the Earth’s surface is water-covered, and the oceans hold about 96.5 percent of all Earth’s water.

All of the continents, except Antarctica, are “wedge-shaped,” wider at the north than at the south.
