About The Scholarship
This programme aims to strengthen the capacity of professionals and decision makers in the water sector to improve water management in the MENA region countries to better cope with the challenges of stressed water resources including under the impacts of climate change.
IHE Delft will provide water professionals from seven MENA countries (Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Yemen) and Sudan with MSc level education in Delft on relevant topics for MENA region water scarcity. The fellowships (32 in total) will be awarded in two batches, one starting in October 2020 and one in October 2021.
The 18 months MSc programmes include 6 months of field based research to be conducted preferably on specific problems in the home country of the participants. The research topics will be selected within specified themes addressing water scarcity challenges in the region.
To increase the relevance for MENA specific water scarcity challenges, and to stimulate cooperation between professionals from different disciplines offered by IHE Delft, the students will participate in a number of additional MENA-dedicated activities.
Requirements
MENA-CD fellowships may be provided to candidates who are a national of, and work and/or live in, one of the following MENA countries: Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Sudan, Yemen.
How To Apply
Interested candidates from eligible MENA countries (see eligibility), who meet IHE Delft’s admission criteria, are advised to apply for admission and fellowship as soon as possible. You can apply online, via the education section of the IHE Delft website. Please note that only Delft-based MSc specializations are eligible to apply for the MENA-CD fellowships.
Once you have chosen the programme and the specialization, you will find, in the right upper corner, a link to apply online. With your online application for admission, you will be requested to upload a Letter of Motivation and Vision using this template.
When you complete the online application form for admission, choose at question “How do you intend to pay the costs of your study and other expenses”: “scholarship”. All applicants from the eligible countries, who have chosen “scholarship”, who have uploaded their motivation and who have submitted their application before 1 July 2021 and meet the IHE Delft academic admission requirements will be taken part in the scholarship selection. Please note that only Delft-based MSc specializations are eligible to apply for the MENA-CD fellowships.
To be considered for the MENA-CD fellowship for the October 2021 intake, you must apply for admission to an MSc programme before 1 July 2021. All candidates will be informed before 31 July 2021 about the outcome of their application for scholarship.
