The Fellowship<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"animate\">\n<p>We seek outstanding candidates for two PhD positions to work on condensed matter experiments at the Center for Quantum Devices, Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen.<\/p>\n<p>The project is sponsored through an ERC Synergy grant and focuses on experiments to test the non-local and non-abelian nature of Majorana bound states in hybrid super\/semiconductors.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants should hold a master\u2019s degree or a US undergraduate degree in Physics or Applied Physics with relevant experimental experience, ideally including published research.<\/p>\n<p>The project involves nanofabrication, low-temperature physics using a cryofree dilution refrigerator, low-noise and high-frequency electrical measurement techniques, data analysis, interaction with theoretical physicists, and scientific writing in English.<\/p>\n<p>The position is open from 1 October 2021 or by arrangement.<\/p>\n<p>Job description<br \/>\nThe key tasks of this 3-year PhD position are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage and carry through your research project<\/li>\n<li>Attend PhD courses<\/li>\n<li>Stay at an external research institution for a few months, preferably abroad<\/li>\n<li>Perform tasks for the department<\/li>\n<li>Write scientific articles and your PhD thesis<\/li>\n<li>Teach and disseminate your research<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants should hold a MSc degree in Physics or Applied Physics with good results and good English skills.\n<p>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Assessment of your qualifications will emphasize previous research, work experience and publications (if any).\n<p>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Applicants from the US or other places that do not have a master\u2019s degree equivalent to a Danish Master\u2019s degree are encouraged to apply if they are (or are eligible to be) enrolled at one of the
