Preparing for your project defense and seminar presentation with sample questions is one thing and actually facing the panel to answer questions that will be thrown at you is another.

On the present subject under discussion, I am going to show you some guide and sample questions to practice with. These sample project defense questions were gathered from a Senior Lecturer in a Nigerian University and are not absolute. The approaches pointed out are guidelines researched by me and subject to additions. This is also for purpose of rehearsing with your friends before the D-Day.
1. Introduce yourself.
You can forget your name especially when the person that entered before you told you some of the questions he was asked and you get tensed, expectant.
2. Summarize your study in few sentences?
This is simply asking for your abstract. Tell them the content of your abstract. You can read how to write a good abstract by clicking here
3. What motivated you for this study?
Point out the problems of the study, and base your motivation on the need to solve the problems you identified.
4. What contributions will your study add to the body of knowledge?
Talk about the Methods you used, the frameworks you used and your findings to convince them that approval of your work will be worth it. Also highlight the importance of the study. Discuss how you have covered other areas not covered by previous researchers on the subject.
5. What is the significance of your study?
Answer As contained in your research work. If is it not reflecting how it will help other Students in their research work on the same subject, aid in shaping government policies, and how your immediate environment and people that make it up will benefit from the study, then something is wrong with your Significance of study in writing. Revisit it.
6. What was your source of data?
It is either a primary source or a secondary source of data. DO NOT JUST ANSWER PRIMARY OR SECONDARY DATA. You need to talk about some empirical or theoretical literatures reviewed in your study.
7. What were your limitations during the study?
This question is like judgement. The panel only seek to hear you mention some difficulties you encountered in your data collection methods and they can pounce on you calling your work half baked or biased or Malresearched. Need to maintain that combining lectures and writing your project work was difficult is enough limitation.
8. What is your research methodology and why did you choose the method?
Research Methodology is the process used to collect information and data. Chapter 3 exposes all sample techniques employed in your study,Discuss them briefly including your sample size. You employed it because a few example of some scholars(You quote) used sam e method and acheived this and that results. Be factual.
9. What is your research questions?
You should have a ground knowledge of this by now.
10. What is your measurement instrument?
Did you use questionnaires? Phone survey? Emaial Survey? Tell them. Also pont out how it got distributed to your target audience.
11. On what theories is your work based on?
By now, You must know atleast one relevant theory that relates to your study. Tell them which one or two you based your study on.
12. What are your findings?
State how your results answered your research questions and met the objectives of your study.
13. Based on your findings, What are your recommendations and what areas will you suggest for future
research?
Know your recommendations off hand. Suggest other possible areas of research on same subject OUTSIDE your own scope.
14. What is the scope of your study?
Scope is the delimitation of your study. All the areas you researched on, years you looked at and time frame covered.
15. What sampling technique did you use and why did you employ the technique?
