About The Scholarship
The University of Victoria provides its students with a great academic environment, hands-on learning opportunities, and a drive to impact the world. At UVic, students learn with their peers and tackle new challenges on their own under the guidance of the faculty. It gives the students a complete 360-degree education.
An award of $40,000, payable at $10,000 per year over 4 years, is given to an international undergraduate student entering or transferring to UVic and who competes on any Vikes Varsity team at the University of Victoria.
The award is automatically renewed for each year of a student’s full time study until the completion of the first degree or for a maximum of three years, whichever is the shorter period provided they meet and maintain U SPORTS eligibility requirements.
The award recipient will be selected on the basis of work ethic, commitment and performance criteria by the Senior Director of Athletics and Recreation in consultation with the Director Varsity Performance, Sport.
Requirements
- Entering their first year in an undergraduate degree program at UVic and meet UVic’s academic and English proficiency requirements.
- A current secondary school student or have graduated within the last two years and have not attended a post-secondary institution
- Accepted to UVic with an admissions “A” average
- Admitted to UVic a minimum of 32 International Baccalaureate points
- An international student studying at UVic on a Canadian study permit (changes to your citizenship status may effect your scholarship eligibility)
- Grade 12 Interim (current student) / Final (graduated student) transcript deadline: March 15
