About The Scholarship
The University of Connecticut is one of the top 25 public colleges in the United States, and it is located in the heart of the Northeast. The university’s 18 different global institutes, centers, and programs provide students with a worldwide perspective as they engage with diverse cultures and traditions.
At UConn, students will have opportunities to become skilled in using the latest technology to conduct research, as well as obtain and process information. They will find ways to stay connected with researchers, teachers and experts in their field all over the world.
Students who have achieved exceptional academic achievement and excel as leaders both in- and outside of the classroom will be considered for the Global Excellence Award. Priority consideration will be given to those who complete the application by December 1.
Requirements
- are a non-U.S. citizen or non-Permanent Resident;
- have completed secondary school (equivalent to U.S. grades 9-12) and;
- have previously enrolled at another college or university, earning 12 transferable credits or more.
- A 2.7 (on a 4.0 scale) cumulative grade point average in challenging academic course work (Note: Certain programs with limited enrollment require a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for consideration). Please refer to the Restricted Programs section below for additional information. The minimum grade point average does not guarantee admission.
- Good standing at, and eligible to return to, the last institution of higher education attended. Students who have been dismissed for any reason — academic, disciplinary, or otherwise — must satisfactorily complete one year of challenging, full-time academic course work at another institution before applying to UConn.
