Eligibility Criteria
Candidate age: between 18 and 29 throughout the entire duration of their assignment. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.
Description of Task

Under the guidance of the United Nations Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, and the Head of the Youth2030 Secretariat, the UN Youth Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

Support the piloting and finalization of the UN Entity scorecard, a performance measurement tool to measure progress on implementation of Youth2030 at entity level.

Support the development of a reporting system and dashboard with automated analytics

Provide overall data analytic support, including quality monitoring of data inputs, analysis of trends in performance and develop recommendations

Support capacity building of UN Country Teams and UN Entities on the Youth2030 scorecards

Support the generation of the annual report of the UN Youth strategy and donor reporting

Any other support as requested

Furthermore, UN Youth Volunteers are required to:

Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day)

Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country

Reflect on the type and quality of voluntary action that they are undertaking, including participation in ongoing reflection activities

Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.

Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly arrived UN Volunteers

Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible

 

Qualifications/Requirements

Required degree level: Bachelor degree or equivalent
Educational additional comments: Recognized First Level University degree in one of the following fields: mathematics, statistics, demography, computer science, computer engineering, data science, business, finance or related fields
Experience remark

Previous formal or informal experience of working on data bases and/or statistical softwares, would be highly regarded.

Prior experience in data analytics using R, Python, SQL and data visualisations would be highly regarded

Fluency in another Official UN language, in addition to English, would be considered an asset
