Abstract The purpose of this paper is to investigate the challenges facing the computer science student teachers during their teaching practice exercise and the possible panacea. A number of challenges were noted ranging from incompetence of the computer student teacher, lack of fund, infrastructural facilities, computer curriculum to co-operation of the principal and staff. The paper also suggested some possible solutions (panacea) to the enumerated problems.
