ABSTRACT
The research is about the analysis of the law of armed conflicts and how the international intervention strikes a balance. The main objective of the study is to critically analyse the law of armed conflict and how to strike a balance on the humanitarian intervention. The study will also look into the use of force, define what humanitarian law is, issues of the principles of international humanitarian law and to evaluate the application of international humanitarian law. In additional, the study will examine the methods of warfare and which persons are protected under international humanitarian law. The findings of the study is that in as much as the law of armed conflict is justified, the law gives guidelines during the war and after the war. Such laws are, the four Geneva Conventions of 1949 and The Additional Protocols. These and more shall be discussed in depth in the subsequent chapters ofthe study.
