In an attempt to ensure that learners with special needs in regular schools are adequately taken care of , it becomes highly imperative to engage in a number of modifications and adjustments including curricular modifications so as to suit the learning needs of this category of learners. Modifying curriculum for learners with special needs will go a long way in enabling them benefit optimally from various academic programmes by acquiring the needed knowledge and skills without tears, and later in life be in a better position to contribute their own quota to national development like their normal counterparts. It is against this background that the author examined the principles embedded in curriculum modifications, and the benefits inherent therein for learners with special needs within the regular school setting, especially now that the call for inclusive education (i.e. the educational practice that accommodate diversity in the regular classroom) is gaining momentum in the global educational arena.
