ABSTRACT
Student admissions are a pivotal part of any University! Institution’s activities because students
are what keep a University alive. A poor admissions system can mean fewer students being
admitted into a University because of mistakes or an overly slow response time.
Considering African Institutions, resources are scarce to facilitate the admission process, since
most students who opt to join institutes for Certificate and Diploma courses are from Pool,
backgrounds. However, for African students seeking admissions in Universities overseas it can
mean either success or a failure because of the financial constraints involved.
Monaco Institute of I3usiness and Computer Science, on upgrading its status into a fully fledged
Institute has already attracted students from all parts of the country, including neighouring
African countries like Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Congo, Somali, etc. This signifies that
some students will have to travel over long distances in order to access Admission Services at the
Institution premises.
The researcher has developed an automated, reliable and an easily accessible Online Admission
System that will remotely provide admission services to students who wish to join the Institution.
The system is capable of’ sending and retrieving details of students lbr verification by the
Admission Department. Feedback can thereibre he sent hack through the Applicants email
addresses to notify them of their admission status.
The project is made up of six (6) chapters; chapter one tackles the fundamental aspects of’ the
project. Chapter two explores and reveals the sources of study materials that have been used to
guide and aid the research findings as well as suggestions of basic components and procedures of
system development that are useful in establishing this project.
Chapter three discusses the methods, techniques and tools that the researcher employed to collect
data and develop the system. Information in this chapter was gathered from published materials
such as: Online sources. libraries (books and research reports). news papers. articles, interviews.
Thapter four covers the analysis and design of the project, in chapter five the researcher
iiscusses the implementation details and system testing and chapter six gives the conclusion and
‘ecommendations of use to the client (s) and future programmers who may need to improve on
he system. ~inally. the Appendices include all the features that were used to aid the research and develop he system.
