Impact Of Poverty on Family Relationship in Ntoroko Town Council, Ntoroko District, Southern Uganda

ABSTRACT ‘he research was on carried on the impact of poverty on family relationship in Ntoroko town council. ‘he objectives of the study were: to establish the causes of poverty on family relationship in Ntoroko ~wn council. To assess the impacts of poverty on family relationship and to find out the possible trategies that can be used to reduce poverty on family relationship. ~ total number of 50 respondents were used in the study comprising of parents, youth, local council fficials and women. The instruments used were questionnaires and interviews. ‘he study was carried out because poverty is a threatening problem affecting family relationship in ~toroko town council as evidenced by poor health, malnutrition, high school dropout, domestic iolence among others. ‘he findings reveal that poverty can be reduced in family relationship through education, hard work, nd government support to the poor, provision of loans with little interest by financial institutions ~nsitization ofthe community on self employment.
