Effect of inquiry approach on academic performance and text anxiety levels of biology students in cellular respiration at Senior High Schools in Ghana

The study investigated the effect of inquiry approach on academic performance and test anxiety levels of Biology students in cellular respiration at Senior High School. Five null hypotheses guided the study. The study adopted the constructivists’ theory. Positivists’ paradigm underpinned the study. The study employed the experimental design. The population of the study comprised all the SHS 2 students at Wesley Grammar School. The accessible and target population comprised of all SHS 2 Biology students and Science One (2S1) Two (2S2)respectively. Simple random sampling was employed to select twenty (20) students for the study. Respiratory Achievement Test (RAT) was the instrument used to gather data. Data was analyzed using Excel Data Analysis ToolPak and IBM SPSS by employing (means, standard deviations, minimum, and maximum values), and inferential statistics (unpaired t-tests, ANOVA, and LSD Post Hoc Test) all tested at a significance level of 0.05.
