ABSTRACT In summary this research is based on judicial system and governance in Uganda. The study mainly covers the doctrine of separation of powers as enshrined in the constitution of Uganda 1995. The body of the research mainly covers the powers vested in the Judiciary and whether there is any possibility of conflict between Judiciary and executive in the exercise of these powers. This research has taken a case study of UGANDA at Mengo Court and cases of (Rtd) Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye. Katozi v. Kahizi (1907) IULR 22 among others. The methods of this research employed include, interviewing judicial officers and the local people Internet newspapers text books, statutes, legal journals and websites containing legal literature It's through these findings that I conclude that there is conflict between the Executive and Judiciary and Uganda can never achieve democracy if judiciary is not respected.
