The Legal Status Of The Right To Health Care Of Adolescents Living With Hiv/ Aids In Uganda

ABSTRACT

The study in the main body consisted of an evaluation of the right to health

care of adolescence living with AIDS/HIV in Uganda.

It made an impact on the right to health care through an analysis of the

international and national Human Rights instruments under the Human

Rights regime and to make a case for the primacy of Human Rights and

particularly the right to health care.

The study further was to investigate whether the right to health care exists in Uganda, what are the available health care services to the adolescents, what are the factors that affect the implementation of the adolescent's right to health care.

In the final analysis the study recommended, solutions, human rights for all especially adolescents who offer the greatest hope for changing the course of the HIV/ AIDS epidemic if they are given the support to do so. And a ground for an improved debate and also enable Uganda to make informed decisions in trying to enact health sensitive national legislation, humanitarian intervention, sustainable and equitable utilization of government resources with a view of eliminating imbalances among others.

The study adopted empirical and non-empirical research methodology which consists of interviews of key informants and use of the existing literature among others.

The researcher strongly believed that the findings will contribute to a fund of knowledge to empower people at all levels with the humanitarian skills to enable a fair economic and social change.
