Abstract Background Newcastle disease is a highly contagious disease of birds caused by Paramyxovirus. Birds mostly affected by Paramyxovirus virus includes; chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks and guinea fowls. Newcastle disease however, remains a worldwide problem.
