ABSTRACT
The study particularly establishes an electronic centralized distributed system to monitor and
evaluate the activities of all brewery industries in Uganda.
Due to the massive loss of lives of alcoholics in Uganda in 2010, the researcher saw that there
was need for the ministry to come up with a more flexible and yet sustainable system to monitor
activities of all brewery industries in the country.
Over 87% of the respondents from the UNBS and the brewery industries agreed that the old
system of monitoring the brewery activities was not effective at all. The study therefore focuses
at all the possible procedures to come up with such a system and these procedures are:
Investigating the old system to identify its weaknesses and strong points; determining
requirements for the system that will monitor and evaluate its performance and development of
the application. Here, the researcher took a deeper look into the companies’ production activities,
how they package, and the ingredients used for producing these beers as a measure to curb poor
products and contamination. The researcher therefore used MYSQL and Dream Weaver software
to develop the centralized distributed web-application to monitor all brewery activities in all
companies in the country.
