The European Water Framework Directive of the Year 2001 Is designed to Manage special Nature Reserve areas and Special Biodiversity In all the European Union Nations against encroachment and anthropogenic activities as regards to Industrialization, The major concentration of this directive are the water bodies i.e Rivers, Seas, ponds etc (River Elbe and River Saale) that cuts across several member nations.
The Research work Is aimed at using this Water framework directive basic Instruments as a case study to restore soil and environmental quality In Oloibiri being the first place that Oil was discovered In Nigeria.
The major highlight of the research work Is to use engage major players of the environment through town hall meetings, using special plants to clean up contaminated soil, Public/Private engagements and public awareness regarding environmental quality restoration.
