ABSTRACT
Back ground: Abortion is a termination of pregnancy at the gestational age of 20 weeks from whatever cause or before the fetus is capable of extrauterine life, it can be spontaneous or induced. Safe or unsafe abortion can lead to serious abortion complications. Individual awareness on abortion complications and the accessibility of comprehensive post abortion care services, are important predictors of the outcome treatment of abortion complications (Geleto & Markos, 2015).
Objective: This study has aimed to assess the individual awareness on abortion complications and the accessibility of comprehensive post abortion services, among women seeking abortion care at health facilities in Manyara Region.
Method: This was an observation Hospital based Cross-section study with a quantitative approach. Data were collected by using interviewer administered semi structured questionnaire as well as Patient records. Purposive sampling method, was used to select one region due to the high percentage of abortion complications as well as the six health facilities with CPAC services criteria and convenient sampling method, was used to select a study participants due rare cases. Data were analyzed by statistical package services solution (SPSS) version 20 and findings were presented in tables and figures, frequencies, percentages, Odds Ratio (OR), and Adjusted Odds Ratio (AOR).
