Compliance with Procurement Policies and Contract Awarding of Kotido District Uganda

ABSTRACT The research sought to address the effect of Compliance with Procurement policies and contract awarding of Kotido district. Three objectives were set for this research which involved; analyzing the demographic data of the respondents, determining the level of Compliance with Procurement policies and procedures, and determining the level of contract awarding and management in Kotido District. Organizational structure, internal and external control system, management involvement and management of public Compliance with Procurement Policies were the factors identified as hindering the effectiveness of public Compliance with Procurement policies. The inefficiencies of the factors led to lack of accountability and transparency within the public Compliance with Procurement Policies. The questionnaires and face sheets were tools used to obtain findings to the research questions, the research findings was coded, edited, and analyzed using a computer software for statistical package for social scientists(SPSS), frequency and percentage was used to analyze data on respondent’s profile. Means was used to analyze data on the level of Compliance with Procurement Policies and the level of Contract Awarding. Pearson’s Linear Correlation Coefficient (PLCC) was used to establish whether there is a significant relationship between Compliance with Procurement policies and Contract awarding. The 0.05 level of significance was used to determine the strength of the relationship between independent and dependent variables. v
