Effect Of Food Hygiene Practices And Sales Performances Case Study Equatorial Hotel

ABSTRACT

This study is to assess the effect of food hygiene on sales performance .How food

hygiene does really contribute towards sales performance in a food service

establishment. in Uganda of which was relied on as a case study of Equatoria hotel in

Kampala. The hotel industry, in this case equatorial hotel has put emphases on food

hygiene in the way to increase sale performance.

The study was done using both primary and secondary sources of date of which

textbooks, newspapers, brochures, interrnrt were used as secondary data, well as

ximary data was obtained from interviews, questionnaires. And gbservations. The

Jopulation used by the researcher was 50 that represented the entire population of

:?quatorial hotel of 200 employee.

rhe researcher drew tables as a way of describing and analyzing date. The findings

;hawed that hotels are faced with the problem of food poisoning in form of direct hand

:ontact, cockroaches, houseflies and dust. Others being a problem of transport,

mskilled staff, money anf tax laws in the way of implementing food hygiene practices

o increase sales performance in equatorial hotel.

·he researcher concluded by giving recommendations, possible ways to be done in the

,ay to prevent food poisoning that is practicing food hygiene technique to increase

ales performance in this highlighting ways such as, training food handling staffs about

Jod hygiene, creating hygiene committees responsible for maintaining hygiene

tandards, quality control and set rules and regulations of food hygiene in every

epartments of the establishment.
