The study looked into the communication styles of former Vice President Robredo from the standpoint of young leaders. Twenty-five (25) young leaders of accredited organizations in the University of Southern Mindanao served as participants of this study. The study used a qualitative research method, and the data gathered from in-depth interviews were transcribed and interpreted using thematic content analysis. The result of the analysis revealed that the young leaders have various descriptions of the communication styles of former Vice President Robredo. These include: assertive, manipulative, submissive, passive-aggressive, and aggressive. The analysis also revealed that the imageof Robredo being portrayed with her use of specific communication styles were incomprehensible or “lutang”, scheming, bad politician, funny speaker and goaloriented leader. Analysis of the interviews also showed that her communication styles negatively impacted her run for the presidency but at the same time, favored by the youth.
