A Comarative Study Of Ellipsoidal And Mean Sea Level Heights

Abstract This research aims to compare between heights that measured relative to the mean sea level (Orthometric Heights) and that ones related to the ellipsoid (Ellipsoidal Heights). By observing 11 points using both methods, the comparison was carried out, it found that the RMSE is 0.023m, and to convert between method to another must add or subtract 1.635m in the study area.

Investigation of Fire Regime Using MODIS Sensor Imagery Case study: Eastern Part of South Kordofan State

ABSTRACT South Kordofan State is rich in its natural resources mainly vegetation cover, the area characterized by dense forests, rich pasture and arable land, as well as the occurrence of wildfire in the dry season, There is no suitable information available on when, and where, how often and how much wildfires, large areas of forests and pastures are subject to wildfires in the dry season. The objective of study is to investigate the fire regime (extend, seasonality and frequency of wildfire...

Detection Of Changes In Nubian Lake Using GIS And Remote Sensing

ABSTRACT The Nubian lake is one of the largest industrial lakes resulting from the establishment of High Dam in Egypt and is located in the Sudanese-Egyptian border. This research deals with the study of changes in Nubian Lake using Geographic Information System and remote sensing. The ArcGIS capabilities had been utilized. The Remote sensing technique had been applied to assess the change that occurred at the lake boundary. Moreover, the urban development and the increased in the agricultur...

Effects Of Sand Encroachment On Omdurman Locality Using Remote Sensing (1987 – 2013)

Abstract Sand encroachment is one of the main problems threatening the agricultural production in some parts of Sudan, particularly in Omdurman locality. As the accumulations of sand dunes move, they bury villages, roads, oases, crops ,market gardens, irrigation channels and dams, thus causing major material and socioeconomic damage .The integration of remote sensing and geographic information system (GIS) prove to be reliable tools to monitor the sand encroachment processes. It can be seen, ...
