Impact of Globalization on State Sovereignty: A Case Study of Non-State Actors in Kenya

Abstract:

Sovereignty has in cooperated negative and positive connotations. Positive connotation involves the state ability to control its political and economic aspects on its own. That is it should make sure there is political stability and better social and economic conditions (Jackson 1993, p. 77). Positive connotation of sovereignty depends on the predominantly on action and resources of government and their population . It is also an internal part of sovereignty whereby the government needed to exercises absolute authority over its territory. Negative connotation of sovereignty involves freedom from outside interference or rightfully norms of non-intervention and it is also a formal legal condition and foundation upon which state founded (Jackson, 1993, p. 78). The international society provides government with negative sovereignty through the act of general recognition by other states. Negative sovereignty is also an externally sovereignty which means no actor that has authority above and beyond the state.
