This study examined the impact of non-oil export on the manufacturing sector in Nigeria within the time frame of 1986-2016. Time series data on manufacturing output was the dependent variable, while the independent variables were non-oil export, exchange rate and non-oil import. The technique of estimation employed in the study was the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) regression analysis. The results revealed that exchange rate and non-oil import have significant impact on manufacturing output while non-oil export is insignificant. Based on the findings, the study recommended among others that government should discourage the activities of over-exportation in the non-oil export sector; that government should maintain a stable exchange rate policy system so as to achieve the desired level of capacity utilization in the manufacturing sector and that the government of Nigeria should limit import control measures in order to increase the amount of non-oil import as to encourage production to improve Nigeria’s capacity utilization.
