The research work focused on domestic energy needs in Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State. The study aimed at determining the various types of energy use by households as well as examining the relationship between household income level and energy consumption. Survey method was used to obtain information about domestic energy needs Questions on various aspect of the study were posed in which members of the population responded to them. The findings revealed that there is a significant relationship between household level of income, energy choice and consumption. It was recommended that energy source should be provided within the reach of both the poor and reach people
