ABSTRACT

The topic of today's lecture concerns Electricity as it exists in Nigeria from the very beginning. The lecture will take us through the developmental stages of Electricity infrastructure in Nigeria from the beginning to what it is now. We all know that the engine of life the world over, is the uninterrupted electrical power supply. We also know that there is a very strong link between the per capita consumption of electrical power and the state of physical advancement of a nation. This means that if the energy consumed per person in a nation is very high, more industries will be working, which leads to a strong nation. This is what every right thinking citizen of any nation will want but it is very sad to note that this is yet to be true in our country, Nigeria. The above situation prompted me as a concerned Nigerian to want to discuss the circumstance of electricity as it pertains to Nigerian.
