ABSTRACT The study entitled “Parents’ Involvement and Teachers’ responsiveness in Selected Primary Schools in Mbooni District-Kenya sought to respond to the purpose of the study: To test the hypothesis of no significant relationship between the Parents’ Involvement and Teachers’ responsiveness; to validate the educational system theory; to contribute to the world of knowledge by coming up with new knowledge on Parents’ Involvement and Teachers’ responsiveness. The study also matches with the specific objectives: To determine the profile of the respondents in terms of age, gender, level of education and teaching experience; to determine the level of parents’ involvement in educational success of pupils; to determine the level of Teachers’ responsiveness; to establish the significant relationship between the levels of parents’ involvement and the level of teachers’ responsiveness in Mbooni District. The design of the study was a descriptive survey in particular descriptive correlational. Data were collected by means of questionnaire and checklist. Data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and interpreted using descriptive statistics of frequency, percentages, and the means. The findings indicated that the majority of the respondents (teachers) are in the age range of 31-40 (37%). Males dominate females (55°k and 45% respectively). The majority of teachers are secondary school certificate holders (93%). Their teaching experience is dominated by the range of 7 years and above. The level of parental involvement in Mbooni District is low (overall calculated mean = 2.24). The level of teachers’ responsiveness is fair (calculated mean =1.44). The level of parental involvement and the teachers’ responsiveness are significantly correlated (r- value =0.14, sign =0.000). The District of Mbooni in collaboration with the government of kenya and the Ministry of Education and the school authorities should improve PTA partnership as to increase the awareness of parents about parental involvement in their children’s education for better performance of the pupils.
