A lot of researches have already been carried out on the origin and activities of the Boko Haram terrorist, but this particular research aims to look at the Boko Haram sect from a historical perspective. This is due to the fact that there is still a lot of “middle ground” as to the motive and motif behind the activities and operations of Boko Haram in Nigeria. Hence, this study attempts to reveal the motive behind the formation of Boko Haram, by investigating its activities and operations since its formation.
