ABSTRACT
This study grew out of the need for a research into poor academic performance in chemistry at the secondary school level. It is designed to find out the school Related Factors Influencing Teachers Effectiveness, in Chemistry in some selected secondary school in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State. Ten secondary schools were randomly selected in the local government, also three teachers were selected from each of the secondary school. The instrument used was the researcher’s designed questionnaire, and four hypotheses were generated for this study and the Chi-square method was used to test the hypotheses. In view of the result obtained, all hypotheses tested were rejected. Against this background science teachers, chemistry in particular should be given opportunities to attend seminars, symposiums, workshops so as to get themselves up-dated in their teaching method. Also the number of students in a classroom should not be more than twenty and the science laboratory should be well equipped with modern technological equipments.
