COMMUNITY HEALTH AND NUTRITION PROGRAMS - ΣΤΑΥΡΟΥΛΑ ΜΑΡΙΝΗ - ΔΙΑΤΡΟΦΗ ΣΤΗΝ ΚΟΙΝΟΤΗΤΑ

The dissemination and adoption of healthy eating habits is a key determinant of individual health advocacy, and a key factor for promoting public health. Changes of modern lifestyle, decreases of leisure time, evolution of the family structure and subsequent adoption of new dietary habits, leading to consumption of ready meals and standard, is one of the most serious challenges for the public health in today's world. At the same time, the routine cultivation of aesthetic patterns which deviate from a healthy way of life, combined with the appearance of mental health problems, increase the incidence of diseases associated with eating disorders. Chapters that follow analyze the basic concepts of nutrition, the importance of nutrition in the body as well known diets that have prevailed in all the main Mediterranean diet. At the same time, it will analyze the actions performed in community nutrition and nutrition policy in Greece.
