The pll of each sample was determined in w;iter (l:l)

c;dciunl chloride solution using iCJU-72 Lahuwtory pll meter. Organic carbon

was dctenuined by Walkley-Uiack method. The exchangeable sodium and

potassiunt were measured using the !lame photometer. while t.he exchangeable

The excltnngcablc ncidity (aluminiutn ion and hydrogen ion) were

dctcnn ined by extracting with JN potassium chloride solution and the extract

titrntcd using sodiulll hydroxide solutioll aflcr auding phenolphthalein indicator.

The cl'kctivc catim1 exchange capacity and the pcrccntnge base saturation were

obtained by calcula􀅛ion.
