ABSTRACT.
The main objective of the study is to investigate on the effects of increased second hand
clothing importation on the performance oftextile industries in Kenya.
The other objectives are to fmd out if the performance of the textile industries in Kenya
are affected by the increased second hand clothing importation, find out if the high prices
of clothes made in Kenya is a factor that has affected the performance of textile
industries, to investigate if the lack of government support on textile industries is a factor
contributing to the low performance ofthis industries, to determine if poor quality of
clothing produced by local textile industries is a factor that has affected the low
performance of textile industries.
During the study the researcher is likely to encounter a number of limitations like time
constrains lack of adequate cooperation from respondents, lack of proper evidence regarding the problem of the study.
