The Place of Leadership in the Society: a Necessity Towards Achieving Peaceful Coexistence (Africa in View).

The society is no doubt an integral part of humans all over the world: consisting of persons who by

virtue of like minds, have agreed to live together towards achieving harmony in coexistence with each

other. Since time past, different societies have had series of experiences, which has led to the thrust of

believe in the body of people called “leaders”, with the sole aim of upholding to the terms of coexisting

in the society.

Of the different terms of coexistence in a society, I would say that, “peaceful coexistence”

must have served a greater place towards arriving at a decision to live together as a people. Perhaps this

explains the reason for the inclusion of “peace, justice and strong institutions” in the United Nations

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Because, one who has not seen some tendency or traits of

peacefully walking with another, will possibly not give his/her will to being on the same path with the

other. Such happenings have resulted into what is called leadership.

Leadership has placed the need for leaders who can uphold to the powers operated in leadership. Of the

different roles that leadership plays; the actualization, realization and maintenance of peaceful

coexistence of the society that any leadership is attached to, is of paramount importance.
