The Relationship between Food Security and Poverty in Africa: A Case Study of Two Kenyan Communities

Food security remains Africa's most fundamental challenge, at present a third of the African population faces widespread hunger and chronic malnutrition, therefore posing a threat of acute famine and food crisis. This study will show the critical issues brought about by food security the progress been made to change the insecurity. Its focus is mainly on the dynamics of the global food systems unde1mining the world's ability to provide everyone with safe, sufficient and nutritious food three times a day. The study is primarily based on expounding on the hunger and insufficient situations in Africa in the current changing times. The thesis will outline the implications of the poor food policies and agricultural education, as well as the opportunity to change and manage food in the years to come. The baseline study intends to highlight the negative effect of poverty on food security. It also explore the gradual occurrences in the world that make it difficult for Africa to secure its food and feed its population sufficiently. It also analyses on the factors that make African countries vulnerable to international interference leading to non-benefiting situations. Data will be collected using secondary sources. This research will help international and national policy makers in the agriculture sector and government officials in transforming the existing programs tackling the insecurity issues in the African content and especially in the case study of Kenya.
