1.0INTRODUCTION
Organization primarily is set up to achieve certain aims and objective. Most of them are enhance production, profit ability, public image, and growth in marking share.
All this things cannot be achieve without using people. The people must be trained and motivated toward putting in their effort in order to achieve organization aim and objectives.
When people also come to the organization they have different interest value learning which make them behave in one way or the other. The manager creates an environment for them in which they can work and achieve these goals, not only that, a management should be able to identify the causes of these behavior and quid them to the desired direction when a manager does this, we say he motivates. This necessary because a manager might be a master planner, good organizer, and a judicious decision maker etc and might not achieve the organizational goals and objective, if the aspect of motivation is neglected.
Motivation is interested in the way of human behaves it tries to unravel the rational behind human behavior are motivated some are based on reflex action, habit or instinct. A manager is only interested in these behavior that can be motivated when an individual is left with a choice. The goals sought by people in an organization can be individual or group.
Also the reward can be tangible reward are provided, externally to the individual inform of promotion, increase in payment cars, provision of staff quarters etc. while intangible reward are fact within the individual like feeling of accomplishment esteem and actualization organization environment etc. Motivation is interest in the extent to which our individual or group is determined to place these skills, talents, knowledge etc at the disposal of the organization or to withdraw them.
Basically in all organization, there are different grades of workers at branch level, workers at area office and workers at head office, although all of them need to be motivated, but the nature of method of motivating the workers at branch level, which are usually involved in the operation aspects of the organizations needs to be augmented in order to enhance the achievement of organization objective.
Enhancement of productivity of an organization can only be done if the workers have good salary good working condition, compensation for better performance are what is called motivation.
Generally this project will examine more on how workers can be motivated to enhance productivity, taking De United Foods Industry Limited as a special preference.
