The researcher observed that sign language interpreter is a channel that can provide these students with hearing impairment with an effective means of communication, a better quality of education, and increased academic performance and focus on instruction. Therefore, the research investigated the impact of sign language interpreting services on academic performance of students with hearing impairment in Isa Kaita College of Education, Dutsin-ma Katsina State. Three research questions guided the study. The research adopts survey design. 10 samples were randomly selected in Isa Kaita College of Education, Dutsin-ma Katsina State. Mean was used for analyzing the research questions. The findings revealed that a sign interpreter can promote academic performance of students with hearing impairment. In addition, the findings showed that students with hearing impairment learn faster through the aid of a sign language interpreter. Furthermore, the findings showed that sign language helps students with hearing impairment to be active and participate fully in the class activities. Also, the findings revealed that sign language interpreter needs to be skillful in every subject. More so, the findings revealed that students with hearing impairment especially the congenital impaired ones perform below average. Based on this, it was recommended among students in Isa Kaita College of Education, Dutsin-ma Katsina State and other places that have students with hearing impairment in an inclusive setting should employ educational interpreter to accommodate their needs.
