ABSTRACT The main purpose of this study was to investigate the factors that have contributed to student shrikes in public secondary schools in Ngogwe sub-county. The obje.ctives of the study were to establish the causes of strike in secondary schools of Ngogwe subcounty, to investigate the challenges facing the Performance of students in secondary schools of Ngogwe sub-county and to establish impact of strikes on the student’s Academic performance in secondary schools of Ngogwe sub-county. Some of the recommendations which should be put in place to avert student strikes include development of a curriculum that is manageable, enhancement of pastoral care programme, poor management of education institutions and constant revenue of school rules. Suggestions for further research on this area of the students strike are also given More research should be done on why students strikes have been tragedy leading to loss of lives, how banning of corporal punishment has contributed to the increased good discipline in schools and counseling in curbing student strikes.
