BRIEF HISTORY OF UDI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

INTRODUCTION
Local government administration is one of the efforts of the federal government of Nigeria to bring government influence to the rural dwellers.

Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State is one of the Seven Hundred and Seventy Four (774) Local Government Areas in Nigeria. 

The Headquarters of the local government is situated at city of Udi on the A232 highway and one of the seventeen (17) local governments in Enugu state in southern Nigeria created in 1991. Each has the Awhum waterfall is in the Udi local government area. Udi local government is one of the five constituencies, others include Aninri, Awgwu, Ezeagu and Oji-River.
