Development Of Urban Citiy Centers Case Study Khartoum Center

Abstract

The centre of towns around the world are considered standard for success and

center for social needs and future prospect also their urban centers are considered

the threat and life line. An urban center are the centers for economical political and

social activities and are considered financial and business centers. More over these

urban centers are considered demographic economical and environmental

challenges.

The capital of Sudan, Khartoum is considered one of most important cities in

Africa. Khartoum city aspires to play the role of urban center, the important of these

research is that research vision for Khartoum city as a commercial cultural and

entrainment city. These is to be achieved through developing the center of the town,

thus and which will assist in solving probleming urban centers based on scientific

and planning method which connect the all and new fabric in modern way which

cover all economical social and physiological aspect so as to implementing holistic

revival and development the objective of research understand the reality of

Khartoum city in general with focus on the urban center and problem related to urban

centers and also evaluating and analyzing present situation of the center and defining

strength of center and potentials and weakness of the centers and problems.So as to

propose solutions and designing plans and strategies for future development.

The research problem relies on developing and reviving the center of the town

as the present plan fiction can't respond to new role for the center of the town as the

new role is for regional touristic role which required the re-planning of the area and

proposing new plans and new strategies and new developing plans in line with in

element of urban design.

The methodology adopted in this research depends on theoretical approach

which explains fully the subject of study and descriptive analytical approach which

based on collection of data on the area then organize and analyzing so as to

understand the problems and that is by study of caser study, observation field survey

and meeting informants then following comparative approach where by comparison

between different time period and discovering weak and strong points in every time

period.

So as to propose solution and strategies for development at end of study we

arrive some conclusions and recommendations which achieve concepts of

sustainability for the needs for the society and modern like and for the future. This

to be done in consideration of location and special location of the city which

guarantees of social fabric and for implement plans and strategies propose for

developing the center of town of which the most important is a general appearance

of the city and improving traffic and creating more economical development opportunities.
