ABSTRACT
The topic of research was team work and employee performance in Organizations and the
lack of effective teamwork in Child Fund international. The main purpose of the study is to
establish the relationship between team work and employee performance in the
organization. The study was guided by the following objectives, to find and the different
forms of team work that were used in Child Fund International, to examine the effects of
team work on performance of employees in Child fund International and to establish the
.
measures to effects of team work of performance on employees in the organization.
The design of the study was both descriptive and analytical. Descriptive which deals in
identifying team work used in Child Fund International and analytical aspect deals with the
analyses of the effect of team work on employee performance in the organization. The
study focused on 100 respondents from different departments of the organization, but the
researcher collected views from 50 respondents and the tools that were used to collect
data were questionnaires.
The researcher found out problem solving teams as the most form of team work to be used
in Child Fund International while self directed and projected teams being the least form of
team work ust'!d in the organization. Also, the researcher found out that the majority of
the respondents favored effect of team work on performance over the minority. And lastly
it was found out that the majority of the respondents favored formation of good working
environment as the best solution to the problem affecting team work in Child Fund
International.
The researcher concluded that problem solving were the most commonly used terms in
Child Fund International and also concluded that teamwork affects performance with the
majority support, and formation of good working environment taken as the best solution to
the problems facing team work in Child Fund International.
The researcher recommended; the leaders' knowledge of what motivates his team, define roles clearly and manage conflict purposefully.
