ABSTRACT.
The primary objective of this study is to measure the impact of ICT on human resource functions and organisational efficiency in Nigeria with a critical assessment of the service sector which is key to the economy.
The research imbibed the use of primary and secondary data for the study and employed frequency distribution, simple percentage and Chi-square method for data analysis.
The result of the analysis revealed a significant influence of ICT on human resource functions, organisational efficiency, service innovations, customer patronage, healthy competition and economic development.
Major policy implication of the study is the need to wholly adopt ICT in the human resources administration and organisational operations of all sectors of Nigerian economy for effective and efficient service delivery.
The study recommends the need for more investment and employment of ICT in all sectors of the Nigerian economy to achieve significantly enhanced human resource functions and organisational efficiency.
