Women in Nation building

As against the traditional mindset that African women have not played significant roles in their societies save their domestic duties of "belonging to the kitchen and the other room", this  paper historicizes the contributions of women to the development of their various precolonial societies, colonial and post colonial Nigerian state.

This paper is of the view that the feat of building any nation with specifics on Nigeria will be an uphill task if women are not bought or carried along in the efforts.
