HEALTH IMPLICATION ASSOCIATED WITH THE USE OF COSMETICS

Abstract

Cosmetics are care product applied to the body or face to improve appearance. The concept of beauty and cosmetics is old as mankind and civilization. Assorted beauty and cosmetics product such as skin care product, fragrance, oral hygiene, and nail product, which may contain toxic chemicals that can be harmful to health are used especially by women. The bioaccumulation of this harmful chemicals and metals in the body overtime has been associated with different signs of illness and which has entered into the body by different means. In this paper review it concluded that use of chemical based cosmetics regularly has adverse effect on the skin and could even lead to permanent damage. In this course of study it is recommended that the best way to avoid this side effect of makeup is that users should limit the use of cosmetics and buyers of any cosmetics product are encouraged to read the label in order to know the chemical composition of the product and avoid products with the most dangerous ingredients and also cosmetics manufacturer should limit the amount of chemicals used in production since its side effect is very high.
