Drivers and Barriers to The Adoption of Corporate Culture by Quantity Surveying Firms in Abuja Nigeria

ABSTRACT 

Corporate culture is a complex problem which shaped any organization in diversity of ways, it the challenges and define the corporation, This is a deliberate development by managers and employees operating the culture of the organisation. Culture drives most dimensions of corporate life, particularly when it comes to individuals and their customer relationships and the environment.

Although it is widely recognized that culture plays a significant role in the building of an organization, the integrity and values as it hinders are consequently, the question that usually arises is what drives the adoption of corporate culture, and its challenges, the corporate culture, is most likely to have positive drives on the corporation and lead to greater level of performance.

The paper adopted a questionnaire survey of Abuja's population of fifty-four quantity survey firms. The questionnaire was designed on the drivers ' set of criteria to understand drivers to the adoption of corporate culture and its barriers to the performance of employees working in quantity surveying firms. There were a total of one hundred and eight questionnaires distributed, and seventy-eight retrieved for analysis. Using the mean item score, Kruskal-Wallis test  (H-test)  was carried out and categorical relative index analysis, the data collected were analysed. The research concludes that improvements in the attitudes of workers, workmanship, customer loyalty require a healthier and safer workforce and an obligatory standard in the organizationcis considered to be very important in quantity survey firms as they ranked first, second and third. Also, it was discovered that the challenges to the adoption of corporate culture applicable to quantity surveying firms are hierarchical and distinct based on the perspectives of principal and senior partners of the firm, it reveals that leadership and informal practice challenges are one of the least challenges it. The paper concluded that culture consciousness and awareness, inadequate formal organisational education curriculum and external environment Influence are the major drivers to the adoption of corporate culture in quantity surveying firms. The research recommends that management of quantity surveying firms  should  stress on these cultures that driving  performance measures in their firms, and cultural consciousness and awareness and Inadequate of formal organisational education curriculum of quantity surveying firms.
