Over the years, securing neighborhoods has been a major challenge globally. This study characterized the type and location of security problems and examined the prospects of geospatial infrastructure to enhance neighborhood security in the study area. Results showed that crimes ranging from burglary, armed robbery, loitering to fighting were witnessed within the study area. Most of these (30.03%) occurred along the Road 17 and Road 7 axis of the Zone VI Security Unit, while the least proportion of reported crimes (3.85%) occurred along the Road 18 axis of the  Zone VII  Security Unit during the period of study. A framework for enhancing the security of the study area was generated, this enabled the simulation of scenarios for monitoring and responding to security alerts within the system to be visualized. The study concluded that the state of security within the study area is influenced by the locational pattern of security posts and buildings. There is therefore a need to pursue the adoption and domestication of the Geospatial Neighborhood Security Monitoring System to make it available for improving security management in Obafemi Awolowo University.
