The purpose of this essay is to examine a model of servant leadership and critically report the potential for such leadership to result in improved outcomes for students in terms of pastoral care. As a pre-service teacher, I argue that adopting a servant leadership model will improve outcomes for students in terms of pastoral care. Having power for instead of having power over others is an important aspect of a leader and that by adopting such a principle leads to improve outcomes for pastoral care in terms of wellbeing, academic care, resilience and increasing social capital within the community.
