Abstract This study aims to determine the phytochemical characteristics, structural determination of bioactive component from the leaf extract  using GCMs and experimentally investigation of the antibacterial activity of essential oil from Persea americana and Citrus sinensis leaf against seven bacteria (Gram-positive and Gram-negative) which are Staphylococcus aureus , Bacillus subtilis, Salmonella typhi, Klebsiella pneumonia, Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis and Pseudomonasaeruginosa kn...

Efficacy of Essential Oils from Persea Americana stem bark and Seed extracts

The aim of the study is to evaluate the Antibacterial, Phytochemical analysis of Essential Oil, From the Stem Bark and seed extracts of Persea americana (Avocado). This was carried out by the crude extraction of the seeds and stem bark extracts with n-hexane. The extracts were used to determine the presence of Phytochemicals. Stock cultures of test organism such as Staphylococcus aereus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus cereus, Proteus mirabilis were...

Assessment of Antimicrobial, Phytochemical Screening and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrophotometric Profile of Crude Chrysophyllum Albidum Essential Oil

Abstract The main purpose of this work is to investigate and compare the antimicrobial properties of Chrysophyllum albidum seed and stem bark essential oils, against some selected pathogenic isolates, to compare the phytochemical composition of the oil of Chrysophyllum albidum seeds and stem bark, to analyze the chemical compounds responsible for activities of the essential oil using Gas Chromatography – Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS) method in order to provide scientific validation for their us...

Assessment of Nephrotoxicity, Anti-Inflammatory and Antioxidant Properties

The purpose of this work is to assess the effect of nephrotoxicity, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of epigallocatechin, epicatechin and stigmasterol phytosterol (synergy) isolated from ethyl acetate stem bark extract of Spondias mombin on wistar rats using molecular method of analysis. The selected biomarkers used for this work are GapdH, KIM-1, IL-1B, GSR, CAT, GPX-1 and IL-1Alpha at 30, 100 and 1000 mg/ml concentration. Seven week-old, male wistar rats from the Centre for Bioc...

Evaluation of Quantitative Elemental Compositions and Antioxidant Potentials of Spondias Mombin Extracts (Linn), A Precursor Against Infectious Diseases

The purpose of this research work is to investigate the elemental composition and antioxidant potentials of Spondias mombin (leaf, root and stem bark) at concentration of 10, 20 and 5mg/ml. using different conventional laboratory methods, also to determine the antioxidant potentials of Spondias mombin. The element present are Sodium (Na), Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg), Zinc (Zn), Iron (Fe), Lead (Pb), Copper(Cu), Manganese (Mn), Potasium (K) and Phosphorus (P).it was observed that all elements...

Phenotypic identification and antibiogram profile of citrobacter species

The administration of antimicrobial agents on patients had a major impact on the rate of survival from infections. However, the evolving and the changing patterns of antimicrobial resistance posed a threat and caused a demand for review of the existing antibiotic policy or a demand for new antibacterial agents. This study was designed to determine the phenotypic identification in Citrobacter species and Antibiogram profile of citrobacter species isolated from University College Hospital (UCH)...

Bio-guided Isolation, Purification and Chemical Characterization of Epigallocatechin; Epicatechin, Stigmasterol, Phytosterol

Spondias mombin (Linn.) is a widely cultivated edible plant used in folkloric medicine for the treatment of severe infection and health disorders. This research work was carried out to isolation, purification and chemical characterization the bioactive constituents of the ethyl acetate stem bark fraction of Spondias mombin (Linn.), a medicinally important plant of the Anacardiaceae family. This study revealed the presence of flavonoid and steroids, which have been found to be important hormon...

Antibacterial and Antifungal Efficacy of Partially Partitioned Fractions of Spondias mombin (Linn) Extracts (Root, Leaf and Stem Bark) against Clinical and Environmental Isolates

The purpose this research work is to determine the antibacterial and antifungal assay of partitioned fractions of S. mombin (Linn) extracts against clinical and environmental isolates. The root, leaf and stem-bark of S. mombin were harvested and air-dried. The dried S. mombin was milled into powdered form using manual grinder. Powdered S. mombin (1 kg) each of the different S. mombin parts was extracted with 3 L of 70% (v/v) ethanol, ethyl acetate and distilled water for 72 h at room temperat...

SORBITOL NEGATIVE ESCHERICHIA COLIIN WATER LEAF (Talinum triangulare)

A total number of 60 samples of water leaf were collected from different areas in Enugu Metropolis, these samples were inoculated and examined to detect the presence of sorbitol negative Escherichia coli 0157:H7. About 35(17.5%) samples out of the 50 samples inoculated were found to be sorbitol negative E-coli. From the result E-coli 0157:H7 is the predominant serotype accounting for 90% of all VTEC isolates. THE PROCESSES THAT ARE INVOLVED IN THE RECOVERY OF PETROLEUM AND IT PRODUCTS

mso-ansi-language:EN-US;mso-fareast-language:EN-US;mso-bidi-language:AR-SA">      Enhanced oil recovery (abbreviated EOR) is the implementation of various techniques for increasing the amount of crude oil that can be extracted from an oil field. Enhanced oil recovery is also called tertiary recovery (as opposed to primary and secondary recovery). According to the US Department of Energy, there are three primary techniques for EOR: thermal recovery, gas injection, and chemical injection So...
