Oral Literature as an art form is as primordial as human existence. It transcends all races and religions. As an art form, oral literature constitutes the stories, songs, dances, proverbs, riddle, ethics, values, superstitious beliefs, architecture, dressmaking, hairstyle and the totality of the people’s way of life, that is, their culture. Oral literature is largely composed, performed or transmitted orally.
This paper examines folkloric motifs in Ibibio movies – a study of Akpan Ekwong and Ediyie Anwan using the anthropological theory. The key words here are folklore and motif.
