ABSTRACT
This thesis is on ((Human Resource Development and performance in an organization: A case study of FCT ADP Ahuja" My choice of Federal Capital Territory Agricultural Development project Ahuja} is informed by its significance to the development of Ahuja and the Nation at Large. The researcher } s desires to critically and elaborately uncover the problems caused by neglecting the human side of organizations} explore the relationship between · Human resource development and performance in an organization} find out the extent to which human resource development motivates and is instrumental in solving personnel problems in F.C.T ADP. as well as the quest to improve on the work of the previous scholars or researchers on the topic in question motivated the work. In an attempt to address these issues} relevant literature were reviewed} which basically formed the secondary data. The primary data was sourced through Questionnaires randomly distributed to the Staff of FCT ADP where some relevant questions were addressed including the stated hypotheses which say that- There is a significant . relationship between staff development a nd performance. There is a relationship between human resource development and other personnel processes. There is a relationship between human resource development and labour turn. over. The data collected are analyzed using cumulative frequency distribution and simple percentage method. Chi-square method was used to test the hypotheses. The theoretical framework of the study is system approach. The findings based on the views of the respondents and tested hypotheses revealed among others that there is a strong relationship between human resource development and organizational performance. The major recommendation by the researcher is that effective human resource training and development machinery among others should be reinforced in an organization with all necessary ingredients needed for proper articulation and effective implementation of the policies and programmes} especially in FCT ADP.
